WELCOME
Therapy that meets you wherever you are!
I’m Julia (she/they), a counsellor, supervisor, and group work facilitator with 25 years + experience. I work fully online, so whether you’re at home, away at Uni, or moving between places, our sessions come to you!
I have experience of working across a wide range of issues, and also specialise in supporting LGBTQI+ clients and people connected to adoption, offering a Person-Centred, trauma informed and mindfulness based approach. Together we create a safe affirming space, for whatever you need to bring.
Please take a look around my website where you will find more information about me, what I offer and how I work.
If you have any questions, please email me at; Juliadcounselling@gmail.com and I’ll aim to get back to you promptly.

What I offer
Counselling
Counselling is a chance for you to talk about your thoughts, feelings, experiences, relationships and life generally. Sometimes we just want to reflect on who we are and where we are going. Or we may be dealing with trauma, addiction, neurodivergence, anger, shame or destructive behaviours. I will listen and help you explore your concerns without judgement. People who have counselling often say it is helpful talking to someone supportive who is not part of their life in any other way.
Counselling sessions are usually once a week for fifty minutes, although other arrangements are possible so please ask if you think something else would suit you.
I think it is important that you choose a person who is right for you and so offer a free introductory session, which gives us a chance to meet and make sure that we will feel comfortable working together. At the end of that time you can either book some more sessions with me, or take some time to decide what you would like to do.
Please email me for information about fees
Supervision
I have over 20 years’ experience as a clinical supervisor across a variety of settings. I have set up and coordinated counselling services for domestic and sexual violence in Brighton, and supervised staff in homelessness charities, LGBTQI+ services, and other therapy providers.
I offer one-to-one clinical supervision for qualified counsellors and those in training, with sessions available weekly, fortnightly, or monthly.
It’s important to find the right supervisor for you. I offer a free introductory session to meet, discuss your needs, and ensure we feel comfortable working together. After this, you can choose to book more sessions or take time to decide what works best for you.

Facilitation
I am a qualified teacher with over 10 years experience of training student counsellors in Universities and colleges.
Currently I offer group experiences and reflective practice sessions for staff teams, counsellors, counsellors in training and other people interested in the opportunity for personal/professional development.
I have facilitated Buddhist retreats, mindfulness groups in prisons, youth groups and Women’s services to name but a few.
The content and direction of the groups’ conversations are decided through a collaboration between myself and the group participants and/or organisations.
